Hello and thanks for stopping by pet parents!
A little about me...I have always had dogs and cats in my life but have found myself without one now. I have decided to help other folks with their pet needs rather than have my own so I have the flexibility to do pet sits in a wider area and travel! I specialize in long sits that are a week or more. I enjoy getting to know the pets that I sit and I drive long distances to sit with them. Ideally, I cater to folks that travel frequently for business or pleasure and want to build a stable, long-term relationship with a sitter they can trust.
I am a mature adult and my work is internet/based which gives me complete freedom for cat cuddles at the computer or to give some mid-day turf & Nerf time. I am an avid hiker, cyclist, kayaker, tent camper and all-around adventurer so I am not afraid of dirt, rain or critters. If your pet wants to leave the house in the rain, I'm all in!

The Benefits (you can skip this if you already know how it works with care and pricing at a kennel):
Having a sitter come to your pet's environment is very different than dropping your pet off at a kennel. Most kennels are a dimly-lit concrete room with a cot and have very rigid check in and out times. If you have multiple pets and want their small discount, they put all of your pets in that one little room . The kennel assistants are spread thin so they have to charge extra to actually "care" for your pet. I perused many websites in preparing to be a sitter and found that on top of the $52 for dog lodging, typical kennels charge an extra $25 for an orientation, $5 to administer a treat, $6 for a special request, $10 for 15 minutes of cuddle time inside the pet's kennel room, $10 for 15 minutes in the dog run outside before bed and $3 for a report card on how they behaved. This a la carte system adds up and your pet really didn't get the level of one-on-one love that h/she is use to at home.
Since I will be living in your home, I will be able to respond to your pet's needs just like you would which puts less stress on your pet and makes your life less stressful when you get back home. The crazy thing is that it is actually way cheaper!
How it works & what's included:
~ Includes a FREE meet and greet before the sit so we can make sure it is a good fit for all*. I like to start inside your home and then go outside for a walk with your pet with you present so I can ask questions and get to know your pet's personality and preferences. Usually the meet and greet lasts 30 minutes or less.
*Please note that I do pet sitting all over the world so if you live in a different location than me, we will usually have to use Skype or another platform to get to know each other before the stay.
~ Includes at least 2 walks (duration is based on the breed/temperament of the dog. Big adventure dogs or dogs that enjoy long walks may get to go on one of my epic trail hikes and frolic in the creeks, if weather permits). Your dog's safety will always be my #1 priority .
~ Includes feedings/medication and treats...all to your specifications. If your pet has special needs and needs extensive medical care, an additional fee may be added. Please list your pet's needs in your initial email to me.
~ Includes plenty of head scratches, back pets, belly rubs etc. whenever we pass each other throughout the day in your home.
~ Pet pics & videos of our adventures and fun will be sent via text or email to your liking.
~ I will check your mail, receive any package deliveries, wave and be friendly to your neighbors and take out the trash & recyclables.
~ Of course I will leave your house in the same or even better condition than when you left. I am a neat freak that finds cleaning relaxing! See below for additional services you can add on while you are gone.
~ An overnight stay is a 24-hour period
~ Having a 24 hour revolving window means that I am on your schedule instead of you working around a kennel's hours of operation.
~ Example: Your flight leaves at 7 am on Saturday so you need to leave at 6 am, I come over at 6 am and do the morning potty walk and feeding so you can just focus on getting to the airport. Your flight gets back on Saturday at 6 pm. For one pet you will be charged $45 x 7 days and an extra $18 if you want me to come back and do a walk and feeding after my checkout. Even though my checkout is 6 am, I will of course feed and do a potty break before I leave that morning. We can work together on the logistics, I try to be as flexible as I can.
~ Additional dogs are $18 per day; cats are an additional $8 unless they have special needs. Every circumstance is so different so we can work together to find a price that seems fair.
~ If the additional pets are birds, lizards, snakes or fish, they generally are free for short sits however if I have to change cages or chop vegetables or administer medication, that will be an added fee that we can discuss.
~ I will care for chickens and goats as well. I draw the line at bears and tigers over the age of 9 weeks. Sorry! Hahaha! Please list all animals that need care so there are no surprises and we have a clear understanding of all that is expected.
