Vintage Threshold Cas2 power amplifier. Built in the USA by Nelson Pass. Very conservative 125wpc. Needs a home where it will be used. Good cosmetics, especially for an amp near 45 years of age. Powers on and both channels work. Recent minor work at a service center-was powered up with a variac and had the rca inputs replaced. Will include those replaced rca jacks. Does have noticeable hum when in use and could benefit from a recap at minimum and full restoration at max-neither of which I have the interest in doing, as I have too many amps and too few uses for them. When in perfect condition, has a very warm yet detailed soundstage, similar to a good tube amp.

Comes with a power cord that was with it when I purchased it around 35 years ago, was used with a second Cas2 in a home theater system-that amp will be available once it finishes its power up. Several moves later I scrapped the home theater and have sold off most of that gear to downsize. Has been in a climate controlled non-smoking environment since I’ve owned it. It hasn’t been used much in past 20 + years, so that’s why I had it professionally powered up to prevent any damage. I just don’t have a use for it any more and can’t justify a restoration. I’ve listed its condition as fair simply due to its age.

$675 cash only. Generally sell in the $800-$1000 range, my price reflects the hum issue. Additional photos to serious inquiries. No shipping as it weighs around 30 pounds.
