This 3-Cent piece from 1853 is the smallest coin ever made by the U.S. mint. The silver “trime” was issued to coincide with the introduction of the 3₵ stamp the post office began charging to mail a letter. This 171-year-old coin was minted before the start of the Civil War. It is well worn but has a lot of history behind it. I meet at the Food Lion in Randleman, NC if interested. #coins
