I Am Now, Inc., a Triad-based transitional organization, invites you to our "Sleeping Out For Homeless Youth In The Triad" Event to bring awareness to the plight of homeless youth and financial support to continue their work in keeping homeless teen-agers in the Triad off the streets and out of trouble.
BRING YOUR TENT OR A "BOX" AND JOIN US OVERNIGHT!
You will be able to sleep outside in a cardboard box to experience what the 180 homeless youth in Guilford County must feel each night. “Although we could never replicate the stress, fear, pain loss of pride and hope that often coincide with being homeless, this event is a symbolic way of raising awareness and teaching others what it’s like being homeless,” according to Travis Burrell, Founder of I AM Now, Inc. “We are looking for volunteers, community groups in the Triad to help with this event,” he said.

Waste Reduction Partners is seeking part-time, retired engineers and scientists who would volunteer to perform energy efficiency and waste reduction assessments at businesses, industries and institutions throughout North Carolina.
Assessors provide on-site consultation, technical writing, research and technical assistance on energy and waste management topics.
Volunteers should have industrial or facilities management experience with good communications and computer skills. Small stipend provided and expenses are paid. If you said yes to all of these questions you may be eligible to participate in the Triad Child Study. The Triad Child Study is a research study where we hope to learn how your baby’s characteristics, like temperament, are related to his or her development and well-being over time and what influences how mothers parent as their babies grow. Our long term goal is to use this information to help other families in the community.
If you decide to participate you will provide us with information during 3 time periods, first while you are pregnant (during the 3rd trimester), next when your baby is 6 months old, and finally, when your baby is about a year old. You will fill out surveys, answer interview questions, interact with your baby, and have your heart rate and skin conductance measured.
You will receive a total of $250 for completing the whole study and you and your baby will receive small gifts.
